Hi all,
I’ll be restarting the posts here slowly and coming up to speed as I get things about the website tied down. There are lots of plans – but very little time. If you’d like to help out, don’t be shy… just drop an email to info [at] bechristminded [dot] com
Look out for the Christ-Bytes (@christbytes on Twitter) starting today at 8am (GMT -5).
See ya soon!!
There are LOTS of changes coming to Be Christ-Minded in the next few weeks! From select guest-writers to opening up the blogs and boards to contributions from our members and eve more! We’ll also be launching the BCM Store – where we’ll offer Christian clothing, knick-knacks and doo-dads to make your testimony even more powerful. We have a lot more planned because as those with the mind of Christ we want to make our ministry real and felt within our communities.
See you soon – and get ready for the rebirth of the ministry!
In short – I’m opening up the Facebook page so others can post to the page and share their thoughts. IF you have something you’d like to share as a Christ-Byte – please send it to info@bechristminded.com
Let’s get this conversation going again!
Also – if you’d like to help by contributing content, or ever have a thought you want to share with the rest of the community – email it to info@bechristminded.com to be shared on the website OR post it to the Facebook page!
Thanks guys!
soooo… here’s reality coming back to bite me – like I hadn’t learned this before, here’s the math behind Christianity -> Me + God = GREAT; God + Me = good; God – Me = ok; Me – God = BAAAAAD
The order is REALLY important here. Why? Because God will be God with or without me. He can continue to exist etc. without me – I add to His plan; but He can complete it without me if necessary. Now don’t get me wrong – I’m not saying I’m a toy-thing to a Machiavellian God, but I’m recognizing my place and even moreso – God’s godliness.
On the flipside however – if i CHOOSE to include and FOLLOW God in everything I do – there’s a remarkable difference! The difference is not just in my life either – it’s in the lives of those I touch and interact with too! So – yes, I’m the one sheep that He’d leave the flock to go after and when He’s found me He’d rejoice – but when you think about it – who suffers/suffered more due to that enter fiasco? The shepherd? or the sheep?
…”it” (growth, joy, etc.) all begins with me – my efforts to stay close to God or my distractedness that takes me away from Him.
- God will never allow you to keep a spiritual blessing completely for yourself. It must be given back to Him so He can bless others – OC #fb #
- Worship is giving God the best that He has given you. – OC #fb #
- God does not want "Lord I am ready to die for you" but "Lord I am willing to be identified with Your death and be a living sacrifice” OC #fb #
- Do we believe that God can fortify and protect our thought processes far beyond where we can go? #fb #
- God, my soul has horizons further than those of early mornings, deeper darkness than the nights of earth… but You are God of ALL these #fb #
The year 2010 was laden with challenges to who I saw myself as and who I saw God wanting me to become. In many ways (and at many times) I was brought to/provoked to/enticed to/pushed to the edge of my faith and invited to look over. Each time I argued with myself for allowing myself to be brought back to that place one more time.
Well – this week WILL be different!
This week I will allow God to teach me something new about Him. This week I will choose to bring a smile to the face of someone who has hurt – and I won’t wince while doing it. This week I will let my treasured friends know I love them dearly (accept my apologies ahead of time for the incoming BBM blast guys)… but I’ll do more than tell them – yes, this week will be different – so for each day I’m going to choose a friend and SHOW them I love them, and that the almighty God loves them and treasures them too.
This week, my week WILL be different… what aboutyours?
This week I decided to highlight the writing of Oswald Chambers – the author of “My Utmost for His Highest“. It’s a great devotional in my opinion and even though at first I thought it was a little too rigid for my tastes, I’ve come to appreciate the edginess and hard-hitting character of the writing.
My Utmost for His Highest brings you to that inevitable place where as a believer you must choose – God’s way… or whatever else is left.
Here’s to a week lived in the excellence that holiness demands!
- Blessings
